Kootenay Livin' Apparel presents Creston's first "Light the night" event.

Updated: Nov 8, 2021

Saturday, October 23rd our Kootenay Cancer team raised awareness for blood cancer by participating in Creston's first "Light the night." For the month of October we raised $1,596.00 for the Canadian Leukemia & Lymphoma society. We would like to thank everyone that donated to our team and joined us in raising awareness on our walk.

Every year the Leukemia & Lymphoma society of Canada puts on an event nation wide called "Light the night." The idea is you shine your light (lantern) for someone you know who is fighting blood cancer, if you are a blood cancer survivor, or if your are honouring someone you've lost due to blood cancer. Since covid-19 they have made the event virtual and encouraged people all over the country to celebrate in their homes.

Red lanterns mean you are a blood cancer supporter, white lanterns mean you are a blood cancer survivor, and the golden lanterns mean you are honouring someone you've lost to blood cancer.
